PHP is one of the most popular server-side scripting languages indulged in building several popular sites such as Wikipedia, Facebook, and CMSs like WordPress, Magento, Drupal, and Joomla. Started in the year 1995, PHP is designed for web development and also playing a large part in especially the server-side website development industry.

But a big question arises nowadays that is PHP dead? The answer is certainly not. Several people think that PHP’s popularity is falling due to the arrival of newer programming languages like Ruby, MEAN Stack, Python, Lua, etc.

PHP might not be the most modern programming language, but then that doesn’t mean it’s dead. According to W3Techs’ data, a statistic reveals that PHP is used by 78.9% of all the websites with known server-side programming languages. The websites that you visit on the Internet, almost 8 out of every 10 are using PHP in some way.
